Custom-made batten
A battens place is in the sail. The first step we take when making batten is to choose the right kind of wood. We mostly choose our french ash wood, which is specially sawn and which doesn’t contain any knots. We shave the wood to the desired size and make sure to make a nice rounding on the side, so there aren’t any sharp edges. We go for the best battes, because the better the batten, the better your sailing experience!
We make batten for skûtsjes in a variety of thickness. We can also saw the batten ready at the right measurements.
